Mal: Zoe, why do I have a wife? Jayne: You got a wife? All I got is that dumbass stick sounds like its raining. How come you got a wife?

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Yeah, I was thinking that she wasn't being very covert, leaving in the middle of the speech. Pretty Bad Guy wasn't going to notice that bright color sneaking out from the front of the crowd?? (well, he did, obvs.)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Show's been picked up for a full season!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Well, at least it won't do a Firefly on us. Also noticing that it hasn't been preempted (yet).

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Skye is still not doing it for me.

Me either. She acts like a teenager, she is unsophisticated, petulant, and impulsive. I can't decide if she's supposed to be immature or they're trying to make the character seem younger than the actress.

brillig

I don't like Coulson playing Svengali by trying to turn Skye into a proto-Natasha. The girl lives in a van, she does not have the wherewithal to stroll into a high class function and schmooze with a supervillain (wannabe, anyway).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Was Natasha born into that sort of life, or did she learn how to pass?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Coulson didn't convince her to crash the party, that was her idea.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

And technically, she didn't have to pass among the high-and-mighties because she was invited as a hacktivist from Rising Tide, not as One Of Them (or under SHIELD coverstory).

"We have trust issues." Mylar

But she was trying to pass as an insider at first, right? I mean, when she met the one dude and then started schmoozing him about his family based on the info that May and Fitz/Simmons were feeding her, she was trying to pass as one of them. Maybe she didn't realize she didn't have to try to pass until she talked to Super villain dude and he revealed that he knew that she'd hacked her way in and had allowed her to come because he wanted to recruit her? That was a little confusing for me, but I don't really care about Skye so I didn't worry overmuch about it.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

My favorite moment was Coulson saying "that wasn't the off switch" and then being yanked sideways right before the commercial break.

We need more quippiness. Firefly's second episode broadcast was the eminently quotable Our Mrs. Renyolds. This show needs more of that.
