TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Something's tickling my memory from back around the whole, "I'm getting out of TV," announcement, years ago.

He also made a lot of noises like that when he had to retool Dollhouse for Fox. And then he somehow got a second season greenlit, which I don't think he was expecting.

What is even happening?

Here's what I was thinking of at Whedonesque, from 2004: [link]

And here's a link to the E! item cited at Whedonesque. (Someone used the Yahoo link there, which expired). [link]

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Adam Savage is retweeting Eliza Dushku about Dollhouse being cancelled. It's very worlds colliding for not actually being my worlds.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Today's imdb poll is about whether Joss will ever have another successful network show.

I confess that I didn't love Dollhouse a fraction as much as I wanted to, Enver excepted. But, I don't think it is the 'network' part of the equation that is the problem. It's that network.

I had all sorts of ranty things to say about the news side of the house and how that attitude can't help but seep over into the entertainment side and, how can shows I like actually survive there, etc. But you've heard it all before.

I just don't want some "Don't you think (s)he looks tired?" stink to get attached to Joss. I believe he can do better than Dollhouse and I'd like to see him get the chance to do it...given, of course, that he wants to.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't know about mainsteam successful, but three of four Joss Shows have been of truly amazing quality, something that only Brian Fuller has approached in my book.

Always Anti-fascist!

I hope they are not too bummed. I mean, nobody wants to fail, but I hope the writers and actors aren't *too* discouraged.

I totally agree. But in a 'what have you done for me lately' industry, his historical record, while awesome...is weakened by Fox's last two decisions.

Time to warm this thread up again because according to my DVR, we get two new Dollhouses tonight.
