What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I watched the extras, and they're pretty good. The making-of especially gives a bit of insight into the show Joss wanted to make before Fox asked him to make another show first. I'm hoping we get to see more of Joss's show in the second season.

There's a whole adorable segment on all the previous Whedon alumni working on the show. It made me like the show a little more, just knowing how much the people who make it enjoy making it. There is a lot of fawning over Joss, as a warning for people who roll their eyes at such things. But pretty much all of Tim's bits are very amusing, so there's that.

The set is really cool. They built the whole thing, practically!

I did not realize Olivia Williams was doing a voice for Adelle! Adelle's voice is sexy. Olivia Williams's, less so. Like Alexis Denisof.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Felicia Day knows of no plans to air Epitaph One but notes that it will be on iTunes and Amazon Video on Demand on August 11th. [link]

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I said FOX plans to air Epitaph One at some point and it caused a bit of a wank storm with the network. Officially, they don't plan to air it, so buy the DVD. Unofficially, I believe it will air at some point.

I got to go on the set and play last week. It's a really, really great set. Adelle's office has air con blowing in and is kinda creepy when the lights aren't on. Topher's lab has been tinkered with now, his desk has shiny PSUs and such in it. Oh, and lots of toys, it's like my bedroom when I was 6.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I have watched the deleted scenes! They are half an hour long, so let me tell which to skip and which to watch.

PILOT
hospital room - Skip. Terribly boring, not very interesting, and Eliza sounds like Eliza
echo at club, club cont'd, club conversation - Watch. Eliza is a little better in these scenes, even if the guest star still outacts her. This is a more interesting storyline than the one that ended up in either pilot.
adelle and travis - Watch. Part of the cut storyline.
topher and saunders - Watch. It's a little different from the scene in "Echo" and has some good stuff.

GHOST
echo and crestejo - Skip. Unless you really liked that character or something.

STAGE FRIGHT
rayne and echo - Skip. Rayne gives her a bracelet, the end, yawn, whatever.

GRAY HOUR
sierra watches victor - Watch. Victor does yoga!
boyd and cyril - Watch. Short, cute Boyd scene.

TRUE BELIEVER
loomis and paul - Skip. Not that different from what was in the episode.
echo gets sisters - Watch. Short, cute scene.
joyful cult dinner - Watch.

MAN ON THE STREET
street interview outtake - Watch.

NEEDS
actives plan escape - Watch.

HAUNTED
echo at funeral - Skip. Nothing too great here.
paul gathers evidence - Skip. I have no idea why this scene is even here.

A SPY IN THE HOUSE OF LOVE
mellie gets dressed - Watch. Oh, Mellie. Your handler sucks.
victor gets dressed - Watch. Very short, but amusing.

OMEGA
alpha imprinted echo - Watch.
actives ride away, actives handle paul, alpha escapes - Watch! This is that great deleted bit where Sierra and November are bounty hunters.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I just watched Epitaph. Seriously, it s a very different show based on whether or not you've seen it. And I don't know where you go from here.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I'm starting to get confident season two might actually be great.

Also, Polter, I liked the rooftop stuff from Omega, but what is with Paul when he gets wacked? It's a curious scene... Also, Alpha getting away didn't really work for me.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm watching the unaired pilot now. I like this version so much better.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

the unaired pilot was a million and one times better than what we say. once again proving FOX doesn't know how to market Joss.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Or proving that Fox just needs to be more hands off and let Joss do what he does best.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I can see the problems with the unaired pilot, though. I mean, the original version involves taking out the initial Faith-beating scene and replacing the first deleted scene (the long, long, long hospital one). Bit boring. Then it gets confusing. Never a good combination.
