What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Why are you even considering it??

I don't know. I should probably just let Firelight fill the need for that sort of spoof.

I hated L'auberge Espagnole.

People who liked it, why did you? I thought it was mean people being mean.

Raq, I am SO with you. (I also misheard the title originally and thought it was about an eggplant.)

I disliked L'Auberge Espagnole only slightly less than Y Tu Mama Overhyped Crapfest Tambien.

And in much much MUCH less highbrow cinematic pursuits, we watched a handful of DVDs at the beach last week, including Cars (which managed to make me like whatshisname, the Tow Mater guy), Waking Ned Devine (which is full of plot holes and some really unlikeable moments and yet was still really charming), The Legend of 1900 (which made me want to punch the TV at the end, but does have a couple of amazing scenes that were worth it), and a couple of Frankie and Annette movies (Bikini Beach and Beach Blanket Bingo, which now have The Boy walking around imitating Eric von Zipper).

Oh shit. This does not look good for Homestar Runner.

Oh no, I meant for my enjoyment of The Spanish Eggplant or whatever. Because I agree with you on Y Tu Overrated Mama.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

I'm debating whether I want to risk seeing Vampires Suck next month.

if you're into that kind of thing, it's already available for *ahem*. i, personally, think it's going to be hilarious.

Compassionately intolerant

Steph, what was it that made you want to punch out the Legend of 1900?

The pacing, the learned helplessness and self-sacrifice ? Or what?

Yes! "You are my idol and I ADORE you!"

bonny, it was the learned helplessness. Plus, I was angry at the director for showing the ship blowing up. Jesus.

OTOH, I absolutely LOVED the scene when Max first came on the boat and got seasick, and 1900 played the piano as it sailed around the parlor. That just took my breath away.
