I adore TOS and I don't see this movie as a "fix." In spirit, it's essentially AU TOS fanfic. It's clearly been made with vast amounts of love for the show and the universe it inhabits.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

That's a thought.
News flash: Run Lola Run is a pretty good movie.
Yes, I'm lame, and just saw it.
Have we ever done a Top 10 Time-Travel Movies List?
Run Lola Run isn't a Time-Travel Movie, it's a Video Game Movie, with a reset button.

A perfect description! Love that movie--my sister was volunteering at the Tacoma art-film house and saw it a few weeks before I visited and she insisted that I see it with her. Loads of fun to watch, and Franke Potente is really riveting in it.
I love FBDO because Chicago is the main character.
I heard somewhere Matthew Broderick said there should never be a sequel because Ferris should never grow up.

Granted, but it would be amusing to see Ferris in an office somewhere, adored by all as he coasts along doing as little as possible. Plus I'd like to see if Cameron turned out OK.
I think Cameron ended up working for the mayor of NY.
Heh.
Yay for Simon Pegg and Karl Urban!! I was really pleased to see Urban get cast in this role, since he was only getting cheesy action films and/or baddie roles in better movies since Two Towers. Here's hoping he'll start getting some more substantial roles soon.
So much word. I couldn't even get through ten minutes of Pathfinder even though he's half-naked throughout. I did enjoy his character in Riddick, though.
Friend in college introduced me to Run Lola Run and Franka Potente, and I also really really loved The Princess and the Warrior.
Hated FBDO the first time I saw it, didn't get the fuss. I have since warmed to it, but Ferris does make me feel like hyperventilating with his jackassery at points. Don't love it, but can enjoy it distractedly if it's on.
