I haven't seen any 3d movies, because there hasn't been one I had any interest in. I suspect I have enough eye issues that I shouldn't, anyway. I dunno, I genuinely don't understand what the point is.

I can see implementing 3d in some video games, where feeling that you're part of the action is more important. In a movie, if the story doesn't capture me, I don't think playing magic eye games is going to make a difference.

With the Avatar comments, maybe I should describe part of my dream last night. It took place in a future multiplex where every theater was showing the same movie: "Dances with Smurfahontas II: The Squeakquel".

I just watched Drag Me to Hell, and I'm a little surprised at all the glowing reviews. I liked it, but I couldn't really tell whether it was supposed to be funny. I mean, there's an evil handkerchief. And it was overly gross at times. I think that's Raimi's thing, though. That and warning us never to piss off a gypsy.

I think the reviews were slightly out of proportion, but it was well-done fun, and I think sometimes critics are like, "Hey, I saw something that was genuinely fun! Hooray!"

That was clearly some morbid humor, but there was, well, the evil handkerchief, and all the blood coming out of orifices and eyeballs and a lot of the seance scene, where I was like, really? I mean, he had to intend the talking goat to be silly, but I could never quite tell how seriously I was supposed to take everything, since most of the movie is pretty serious. It was just these random moments that confused me.

Okay, I just watched the trailer for Let Me In, and it's pretty badass. It reminds me of the various things I DID like about the original in between all the boring parts. And the very last bit is a nice touch for those who've seen the original. Hell, watching this trailer makes me want to watch the original again and give it another chance.

Movies I saw on the planes:

Clash of the Titans. OH MY GOD WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS PIECE OF SHITE!!!!!! And despite doctoring the trailers to make it look like a shot for shot remake, it bore almost no resemblance at all to the original.

Book of Eli -- I liked it a lot. Good performances all around, and I thought a really awesome story.

Edge of Darkness -- Also really liked it a lot, even though I was expecting not to because Crazy Mel.

P-C, what were the boring parts of Let the RIght One In to you?

I can see people thinking the two trips Oskar makes to his father's being boring. But after reading the book I see all the stuff with Oskar's father being in the movie to show why Oskar went back to Eli after he finds out Eli's a vampire.

My favorite parts of the movie are all the scenes of Oskar and Eli together That's some amazing child acting there. It's almost like it's two movies - the vampire stuff and the Oskar/Eli stuff, until the two plot-lines come together towards the end.

P-C, what were the boring parts of Let the RIght One In to you?

Everything but the actual vampire attacks, I think. I was really tired and sleepy, and it was hard to pay attention. I know the Oskar/Eli stuff was interesting at points, though. And disturbing and confusing.

Crap. Looks like Night'll be getting more studio funding.
