And Josie and the Pussycats should be required viewing, I love it that much. The soundtrack is awesome and was the first thing I played in my BRAND NEW FOCUS when I bought it long ago. It was the movie I watched with my girlfriends the night before my surgery last year, too. It is amazing and awesome.

I don't get what the big deal about Bechdel is. I mean, I'm the only woman I know...the only one at work, or here, or in this movie we call Life.
And on the rare occasion when another woman shows up, IF I talk to her, it's only about guys. Or a guy.
I think people need to realize how hard it is to pick out which man is the "star" in order to talk about him. When you're the only woman, there's a lot of possible protagonists to talk about.

More than half the population is female. If 90% of the women in 90% of the movies still have to talk about less than 50% of the population, what's that about?

I don't understand this sentence. It's usually easy to pick out which man is the star. And his antagonist--it's usually one of the two that's being talked about, if not both.
When you're the only woman, there's a lot of possible protagonists to talk about.
And when we make up more than 50% of reality, how often are we the only woman? Just because you're solo, doesn't mean the rest of us are.
