Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

the Reverse Bechdel test

Is this like "reverse racism"? As in, do we need a "Reverse Bechdel test" to point out ALL THE MOVIES that have 2 men talking about something other than a woman?

Because I think that's just called "movies."

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh my, does it ever. The Alicia & Kalinda (or Alicia/Kalinda, which I have no trouble buying) relationship is one of my favourite thing about the show. And then there is Diane. Christine Baranski rocks so much. In a given episode, the show usually features several scenes featuring any combinations of these awesome women that have nothing to do with the men in their lives.

TGW snuck on me to become one of the most interesting shows on right now and the Bechdeltasticness of it all is a big part of that. And then there are the terrific dialog and complicated characters and arc-y plotting like whoa.

What Vonnie said.

Do you all think Leverage passes? I do, even though most of the conversations the women have involve the team, on some level.

White Collar, to me, wouldn't, because the women don't actually interact with one another. Ever.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Leverage passes, because Parker and Sophie have had conversations not about the mark or the victim. And some of those might have slipped in if the gender was right. But I think what ZenKitty cited in Cable was right.

White Collar will never pass almost in the way Supernatural will never pass. Everything is so about the leads. I can't imagine any of the women having a conversation ever that's not about either or both of them.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Trixie and Alma spent a lot of time having conversations about interpersonal things but not men for one of the seasons also, Corwood.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Because I think that's just called "movies."

The ultimate example being Lawrence of Arabia.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Do The Muppet movies count since most of the characters are voiced by men?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Do The Muppet movies count since most of the characters are voiced by men?

To me, it's all about the characters and the stories, not the voice actors and puppeteers.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

That makes sense. Word.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

So, I finally went to see Iron Man 2 and the best thing about it was the Inception trailer that came before (this one was considerably less vague than the previous one but no less awesome.) [link]

Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a sharp-suit = super-foxy.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

White Collar will never pass almost in the way Supernatural will never pass.

Actually, a couple episodes with Ellen and Jo pass. I made a note of it in the logs. So White Collar could eventually!
