"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Bill Nighy is wonderful in the original State of Play. I imagine Helen Mirren will also be wonderful.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Bill Nighy is wonderful in the original State of Play. I imagine Helen Mirren will also be wonderful.

But you concede that Helen is more wonderful, right?

Because...you know. She's Helen Mirren.

As a whole, I agree that Helen Mirren is more wonderful than Bill Nighy. For the movie, I'm not going to take that leap without seeing it. Which I probably won't, because the original rocked and had John Simm and Kelly McDonald and James MacAvoy and David Morrissey and Phillip Glennister and that guy from Hustle.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I finally got around to watching some of the special features on the Blu-Ray of The Nightmare Before Christmas. There's a tour of the Haunted Mansion with the NMBC make-over, and now I want to got to Disneyland again. RIGHT NOW.

Always Anti-fascist!

Kind of over Disneyland, but I'd love to go with you, Jilli.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm grabbing the miniseries of State of Play so I can have a look see before braving the cinema. I have a couple AMC passes I spend with little guilt.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

because the original rocked and had ...and ...and James MacAvoy

oh that's why it's already in my Netflix queue.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Russell Crowe is pretty awesome and certainly holds the movie up.

That's all I needed to hear!

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

It can't be as bad as Robot Jox, can it?

I don't remember much about Robot Jox, except that it was pretty ordinary. How much of that is Haldeman's fault, and how much the director and various others, I don't know. Forever War is a brilliant novel, however, so if it's handled correctly, it has the potential to be a great movie. Haldeman won't be involved beyond being the original author.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

he's lovely in it, Laga.
