I'd blame my dad being from Joliet

So am I! What part of the city is he from, erika? I'm a west-side girl myself; I grew up in Shorewood, the suburb just west of Joliet, and went to high school at St. Francis Academy, now Joliet Catholic Academy since it went co-ed.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I don't think Spike Lee had the budget to go outside Bed-Stuy for DTRT.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I left When Harry Met Sally off my list because it doesn't feel like a Chicago movie.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

As much as I hate John Landis I admit the list would not be complete without The Blues Brothers.

Not only was The Blues Brothers a great Chicago-based/made film, but it was the start of all the other great Chicago-made films over the next 15-20 years, because it made the city realize how much money could be generated from a big Hollywood film being made in the city.

I recently watched The Best of the Blues Brothers. An interesting clip show including scenes of Dan Aykroyd interviewing Elwood.
