Some of my co-workers saw it in preview at the studio and most said it was just "ok" but they also thought that Iron Man 2 was "just ok". YMMV There's something about JG's jaw that bugs me in the movie where it usually doesn't...
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Oh, it's going to be horrible.
It was a fun game. Doesn't explain why they made a movie out of it, or failed to cast actual Persian people.
Oh, it's going to be horrible.
Yes, but I'm going to see it.
As with most things nowadays, I feel like I can't not see it. You can't credibly manage content if you don't know what the content is. I sat through Twilight fer chissakes. I desreve hazzard pay!
I think it could be another The Mummy, which wouldn't be so bad. On the other hand, it could be The Mummy 3 instead.
Doesn't he use a British accent in it?!?!
Because in the movies, if you're not American, you're British. Unless maybe you're a sleazeball or a terrorist, and then you can be generic Middle Eastern.
The American cast of Les Miserables traditionally sang with British accents, despite being, you know, American. I think to give it "European" flavor? And make it easy to differentiate between the poor (Cockney accents) and the rich (hifalutin fancy-pants Brrrrritish accent)? Or something?
yeah, hate that. French story, American actors, British accents. Persian story (RIGHT there in the title!), American actor, British accents.
