That's disturbing. You're emotionally scarred and will end up badly.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Saw most of the Modern Classics. Bit short on Foreign and flicks made before the '70s. Netflix helps, though. The 100 greatest doesn't have "Sullivan's Travels" or "The Philadelphia Story" Nor Butch and Sundance. Or "The In-Laws That's some *bullshit* Swingers is cute and funny...it reminds me of college, and Doug Ellin is a big fan. But, really, see before you die? really? Did Ellin write this list? No, because the In-laws would be on the other list. I'd put "Clerks" in "Swingers" place, even though I like both. But in terms of saying more about the culture in '94, or filmmaking, Kevin Smith, imo, nailed that.

Our wings are not tired.

Sean, I thank you for your post.

I had a weird feeling watching Munich. I was very uncomfortable with the movie; I barely remember any of it now. I do recall frequently thinking "oh my god. They've only killed ___ people; I still have to sit through the assasinations of _____ more people." And then, literally, the movie just takes you to each planned killing, one by one. And that's the movie. I still don't know why it was made.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Kick-Ass the movie just wants you to laugh and cheer at grizzly murder.

No bears were harmed in the movie, Sean.

I was bored by Munich, I think. I also barely remember any of it.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I suspect I would react like you did, Sean. I don't think I'll be seeing that movie.

I don't know. I kind of wanted to, but now I'm not sure...the previews are misleadingly cheerful. I foresee many cheesed-off movie goers. But I am a sick puppy who might be amused.

Forrest Gump = The Sarah Palin Story.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Forrest Gump = The Sarah Palin Story.

Sarah Palin isn't that smart. She is more calculated, though.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Sean,

I don't think the movie unabashedly wants you to cheer at the heroes' actions. Did you think the same of "A Clockwork Orange?" Although I hated ACO and I'm on record here saying this several, I think both movies could be read in similar ways.

I also think your complaints about the film make it seem like the characters in question faced no consequences for their actions - which isn't the case.

Heh. John Rogers's review of Kick-Ass. I've requested the comic from the library, but it will be at least a month before I get a hold of it, I'm sure. I'm hoping I like the comic more than I liked Wanted, which was very cool and had its moments but had, like, the worst last panel of a comic ever.

Wrod, Corwood. But I liked it a lot when I watched it the first time. It's kind of an ugly tale when you look at it more closely and aren't wowed by the effects.
