Finally saw Shutter Island tonight. It was okay I guess, but the dialogue really fell flat for me. And the music was way too much, verging on cheesy.

Visually it was cool, but they left out most of the coded messages, which really draw you into the investigation and added to the mystery in the book.

My friend who hadn't read it totally liked it and wants to read the book now, so I guess it works on that level.

ETA: I hope the same thing doesn't happen with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

I have seen Dragon Tattoo and I liked the movie. I had not read the book but the movie made me want to do so. I could tell there were some shortcuts taken with the plot though.

K-Bug and I saw How to Train Your Dragon 3D today, CJ saw it with his dad yesterday and now both kids are campaigning for a pet dragon.
