Now tagless for your comfort.

Isn't he Zeus in the new Clash of the Titans?

That's Liam Neeson.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Wow - I did not expect to see Inglorious Basterds on the BP nominees list.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ooo. Nice to see The Hurt Locker get so much love. I didn't think Jeremy Renner would get a nod, though he totally deserves it.

hwæt

District 9 is even more of a surprise to me. Two SF films got Best Picture noms? Inconceivable!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

BTW - just saw Julie & Julia this weekend and LOVE. The movie is made of butter and LOVE.

And neither movie was Star Trek, some people thought would get on due to the expanded list. I didn't really expect it to get the nod, but I didn't expect District 9 either.

Me, neither. I understand the SA nom for Christop Waltz but not BP.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I enjoyed the hell out of Star Trek, but really don't think it deserved to be on the list. Of course, I still haven't heard anything about Avatar that makes me think it should be on the list either, but that gripe isn't going anywhere soon.

District 9 has Peter Jackson cred, so it's not a huge shocker to me.

I'm pleased to se Up on the list, but since it's also up for Best Animated it doesn't stand a chance.
