You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Skye Masterson

Yeppers.

the other Henry II movie is with Thomas A Beckett and I can't remember the name of it offhand.

It's called... *drum-roll*... Becket. Those Ye Olde English types, with all their Henrys and Toms! It's worse than the explosion of Jacks on TV nowadays.

Kevin Costner and Henry Fonda

Wyatt Earp.

Alan Rickman and Richard Armitage

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Sherriff of Nottingham?

Yes. Now we can add Matthew "Worst Spy Ever" McFadyen to that rank, and I STILL can't see it.

ETA: George C. Scott and William Hurt

Because books.

Heathcliff, innit?

eta: nope. Neebbermind.

Yes, it was! Wasn't it? Fiennes played Heathcliff in the 1992 film.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Keira Knightley is not a Natalie Portman lookalike. Keira has some good angles. Natalie is a classic and has few bad ones. And no funny dental issues.

No, wait a minute. Armitage actually played Guy of Gisbourne, not the sheriff. Sheriff was played by an older guy. My bad.

Scrooge?

Heh. THAT would been a better casting choice for both of them than the role in question.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't see that link from here. What's it about?

(Mostly I think Keira's funny looking and Natalie Portman incredibly beautiful. They're both brunettes, but it stops there for me without artificial means)

Well, Scott was definitely Scrooge and I was thinking Hurt was maybe Scrooge in the Muppet Christmas Carol or something like that.
