I saw that on Broadway with Alan Rickman as Valmont.
Boy, I'd give a great deal to have seen that.
plus that adaptation whose name is slipping my mind
Cruel Intentions
Cary Grant and Bing Crosby
C.K. Dexter Haven (You have unexpected depth!) I can't recall if Crosby's character was named the same in High Society. He should have been -- it's a GREAT name.

Yes, she calls him Dex. I don't know if that's used in
Philadelphia Story.
I like High Society well enough, but Philadelphia Story is in another league altogether.
How'about Peter Gallagher and Marlon Brando?
Peter O'Toole and... Peter O'Toole
Henry II in A Man for All Seasons and A Lion in Winter

See, I saw
High Society
first, which makes all the difference. Plus, Satchmo!
Samuel L. Jackson and David Hasselhoff.
Samuel L. Jackson and David Hasselhoff.
Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Henry II in A Man for All Seasons and A Lion in Winter
Close but not quite. Those are two different Henrys: The one in A Man for All Seasons is Henry VIII (played by Robert Shaw), while A Lion in Winter is Henry II.
Interestingly, the other O'Toole-as-Henry II movie also has him killing a trusted friend / former advisor.
Peter Gallagher and Marlon Brando?
What's his name from Guys and Dolls. Masterson?
