ita, you said "Conan" and I thought "O'Brian" and was confused.
I was torn between that and "the Barbarian", but I'm guessing neither is right.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

it appears that Jason Momoa has been cast as Conan.
Ooh, interesting. He's also playing Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones (a very important and somewhat Conan-like character).
One of the Song of Fire & Ice sites has already noted that shooting for Game of Thrones and for the Conan movie shouldn't conflict. (Should GoT get picked up that is.)
It really better get picked up, dammit.
Also, I think the piece of GoT casting I'm most excited about is Rory McCann as Sandor Clegane. Apparently the screen test was one of the pivotal scenes between him and Sansa Stark, and both McCann and the young girl (who got the part) gave everybody chills.
Yarp.
Want to see.
I just finished rereading all four books at the end of last year. I started rereading in the hopes that book five would at least have an announced release date by the time I was finished, but I plowed through 4,000 pages in about a month, so.... Yeah. Still waiting.
A coworker is at Sundance [link]
Technically Dances With Dragons has a release date (April 2010, I think?) but I don't trust it since it also had a release date of October 2009 and god knows how many before that over the last five years.
I'll believe a release date when Martin says he's actually finished the damned thing.
