His agent just died, again, having someone link to that.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
It totally doesn't surprise me that Viggo isn't working for the paycheque. I have no idea how to find what I read about him skating close to the bone after LotR, but his pickiness being the cause would be in character.

The quote I found said he was running out of money when he took Hidalgo.
I suppose buying horses for deserving stunt doubles and helping the disadvantaged and funding your own publishing company can do that. Bless him.
I'm imagining (and it's totally my imagination) though that Viggo's 'broke' was a bit like how MC Hammer described his broke. As in, not like mine.
I would think, yeah. Maybe his brother won't get the calf implants this year, but...
I'd hardly equate Viggo and MC Hammer on many planes. While I think their brokes and mine differ, I think, MC Hammer filed for bankruptcy to stop people trying to collect money from him. He wasn't really broke. I think he was always generating income. If Viggo says he wasn't making money, I can buy that. He seems a down to earth sort of a guy. How long before he would start filing unemployment? Well, not like they like actors to do that anyway, Colin tells me.
Why Avatar will suck and everyone will see it anyway.
I'm not knocking down anyone's doors to see it, but the argument that it will suck because Transformers 2 was effects-laden and sucked is more than a bit specious.
Does the backlash backlash have a proper backlash yet?
Just the theatrical versions.
Harking slightly back,
Mmm, Nasir.
Ryan has done pretty well for himself as stunt coordinator, and swordsmaster for films like First Knight. Without Nasir, I very much doubt we'd have had Azeem, and truthfully Freeman and his character were what saved that movie, for me. Barely. Actually, cast anybody else in the Robin role (Kline, if you must have a Kevin. sorry, kneejerk) and it would have been a good movie.
Mantle did some features, White Hunter, Black Heart with Eastwood and Aliens 3, and lots of Brit series work. Grace and Addie did character work as they wished, although Addie in Excalibur will always overshadow his Gisburne for me. The real star of RoS though, of course, has to be Winstone. A long, steady career, studded with memorable roles.
The RoS, it always makes me smile. Plus I get bonus lovely images of Praed and Bloom in archer-fu.
