"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I enjoyed I Love You, Man as well. It's funny that Apatow apparently had absolutely nothing to do with it, though.

It's within the Apatow Penumbra though just by the pairing of Segal and Rudd.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

And the director worked on Undeclared.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Let the Right One In

We watched this last week. It was gorgeous to look at and the kids were really good (especially the girl who played Eli), but overall it was rather slow. We gave it a 3 out of 5.

Aha! Totally within the inner circle then.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

It's true that it's definitely the Apatow aesthetic, and if Apatow had been involved, it would have been the better movies under his umbrella. It's pretty interesting to me that this movie, which features actors from the Apatow stable, a director who's worked with him, and themes that crop up in the Apatow movies, is not one of the Apatow movies, but I can't see how anyone can talk about it without talking about him.

is not one of the Apatow movies,

Yeah, see, I think it does count as an Apatow movie. Because he's created a circle of talent that all works together and feeds off each other. He's the one that got Segal and Rogen and Rudd to start writing, for example, and he makes opportunities for the other people he's worked with. Even if his name is not on it, the association will get these guys meetings and some backing.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gobstopper. Starring Christopher Lloyd as a sadistic Willy Wonka. Or, well, Willy Wonka.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That's awesome casting right there.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I can deal with her as Judy. Judy Davis was amazing, too. It'll be neat to see them age AH, though.
