Brett, with a close second of Nicol Williamson's Holmes in Seven Percent Solution, which also has a scrumptious Alan Arkin as Freud. If you ignore the HORRIBLE drug sequence, it's a fabulous movie.
Also the movie with Duvall's Watson. And Olivier as Moriarity.
Since I know from somewhere you're a Cupid fan(not sure how; we've never discussed it) you'd probably like They May Be Giants as well.

Never seen it...I think I read the book.
We read the book in seventh-grade English. I liked it.
I feel the opposite about the trailer, probably for the same reasons -- it just looks like a bunch of quips, instead of something of any heft at all.
Ah, where I'm not expecting heft at all. Quips and spats and RDJ and I'm a happy woman.
The Holmes/Watson relationship (and wow it's hard not to type House/Wilson) is easily the best thing about the movie.

I'm so happy about the Canadian who decided to you-tube his old videos...he is a prince among men. He is not helping my Piven fixation, either despite Piven having *horrible* taste in film scripts of late.(Look! Topic. Boom!) Dude, I'd rather you be the second banana than be the lead and one of the few good things in a load of crap. okthksbai.

Sadly, the DVD is out of print (and used copies seem to be getting mega-bucks per Amazon).
7% Solution pops up on tv quite often--keep an eye out for it. It's really quite good. Olivier plays Moriarty!

Speaking of Alan Arkin movies, I really should seek out a copy of Wait Until Dark for a rewatch. Love that movie, and Arkin is amazingly creepy as Harry Roat. If you've not seen it, make sure you watch it with all the lights out for full effect.

Wasn't that movie mentioned in here a while ago (maybe even by you)? I'd never heard of it, but it seemed worth checking out.
I'm a geek for that movie, so I probably have mentioned it recently.
My sister showed it to me first, and made sure we watched with the room's lights out, which added a lot to the final confrontation sequence. I did the same when I introduced it to a friend of mine in college, and loved watching her launch out of her chair at the appropriate moment (not gonna spoil it!).

Have any of you seen The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother? I don't remember if it was good, but I remember it was funny.
