Giles! I accidentally killed Spike. That's okay, right?

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I wish he had just been arrested years ago when this could be more proximal to the crime.

The man has had a fucked up life and had some terrible things happen to him, to be sure, but he really needed to be arrested for this in the 1980s.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Eh, maybe this should be in music...

Hey! Movie watching Buffistas, I've got a bone to pick with you.

I flipped around the cable channels this morning and found Southland Tales. I start watching and it has a Mega Zeppelin.

You know I have checked off 100% Zeppelin Alert For All Movies and yet, you let me down. You're going to have to be a lot more vigilant in the future.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dude, don't watch that movie. Seriously. Bang your head against a wall for two hours instead.

Too late! It has the dwarf lady from Poltergeist and Rebekkah Del Rio from Mulholland Drive!

Bai Ling has already kissed Wallace Shawn and The Rock. Justin Timberlake has facial scars and all the women have Hairdos.

WTF?

Peace be with you on this quest.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Dude, don't watch that movie. Seriously. Bang your head against a wall for two hours instead.

I liked it. I'd have a hard time explaining why, but the Mega-Zeppelin was part of the reason (sorry, Hec.) Plus it's general over-the-top-ness and humor. (Like when SMG explains why she won't do anal .) Plus the music is awesome.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I was kidding about Polanski. He did a terrible thing 32 years ago, but only after having faced firsthand some of the worst things in the 20th century (i.e. the Holocaust and Charlie Manson). His victim has made peace with him and it's a certainty that it won't happen again. I mean, it's not like he's spent the last 32 years doing drugs and molesting children. I just don't see where there's any justice in this. It's a meaningless vendetta.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Punishing someone who had evaded justice for forcible rape (including sodomy) is not a meaningless vendetta. Nor is the behavior of a judge or prior bad experiences even remotely an excuse for it.
