Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Would somebody more able at aheming be willing to pull down Precious Bane?
Clive Owen! Janet McTeer! Romance Non Plus Ultra!
I'm so glad I still have my tape of this--I'll have to dub it onto disc pretty soon. The guy who plays Kestor Woodseaves epitomizes the sexy burly man, and he has such chemistry with Prue Sarn. And that final shot! The perfect ending to the film.
Doesn't John Hurt play Wizard Beguildy, Jancis's father?
ETA: Guess not--just double-checked the IMDB entry, and it's someone named John McEnery. IIRC, he looks a lot like John Hurt.
John McEnery was Mercutio in Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet, and was in Jamaica Inn with a very young Jane Seymour. More lately he's been in Waking the Dead and The Girl with the Pearl Earring, among other things.
David, you're link led me to a...shall we say not work friendly site. Is that where it was supposed to go?

What did I link to?
::goes to check and feel shame::
eta: Okay! Sorry. There are lots of porn banners surrounding that Bit Torrent link. The banners change all the time and were only mildly porny when I put up that link. But they're extra porny now (with visuals).
But the link is still there. Surrounded by lots of crotch shots.
Re #7 - IIRC, old Spock didn't know that Nero was going to destroy Vulcan until it happened. Nero said that he wanted Spock to have a good view, or something, but he never told him explicitly a good view of what. And Vulcan wasn't destroyed in the old timeline, so being from the future wouldn't have helped.
Several of the others can be explained by "bad guys are also bad at planning stuff."
The fact that #10 is an issue has always bugged me. I mean, they had an alien spaceship for over 50 years to play with - I imagine that would be enough time to be able to develop a computer virus.
But the last part of #10 I do agree with - the aliens don't have clocks? Or apparently they have one master clock so they have to broadcast the countdown?
I have been bitching about #8 for YEARS!!
However, I came to the hand-wavium conclusion that they do recognize him, and that's why they both look at Marty knowingly when Marty looks at them when he sees his truck in the garage.
