should I be impressed or concerned by my taste paralleling Oswalt's so much? Because I guess he was really good as The King Of Queens' fanboy geek, so it's hard to be all "Ooh! What Patton Said!" Except I really hate "Subway", but I like Patton's shout-out anyway because, by mentioning something other than "Subway", Mr. Oswalt has shown himself to be a true H:LOTS fan. Subway, is like, the easy choice to reference because it got a lot of ink...documentary on PBS, Emmy noms, etc.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I'm a little shocked people are calling a $56 million opening weekend a failure just because it didn't make as much money as 300. Well 300 was only 2hrs long so that's one extra show per print per day.
I'm gonna go see it again when I go home, to see if I react differently, try and see it as a movie and not a graphic novel turned into a movie.
OK seen the whole thing. Still loved it, flaws and all. I agree the soundtrack is a bit anvil-handed but I will defend the choice of "All Along the Watchtower" as coming directly from the comic.
Here's 4/6th of my contributions to the Screengrab's weekly movie list: [link] I have 2 in part 6, as well, but the whole of the list is worth reading. This week: nonfiction music films (aka documentaries and concerts). Next week: fiction!
I really liked Block Party, too...it was so weird, but in such a *friendly* way.
IronMan casting spoilers, though it was a news story:
Scheduled for a May 2010 release, part two of the franchise will also include Gwyneth Paltrow returning as Pepper Potts, along with Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Don Cheadle playing Col. James "Rhodey" Rhodes.
HIM as Nick Fury? I believe he can do it, but I'm still surprised.
The Fury casting was in the first Iron Man. But I'll be sad if it's true that they recast Rhodey.
It's already done. Terence Howard was a raging jackass about resigning. I'm sure no one is surprised.
