Can't drink, smoke, diddle my willy. Doesn't leave much to do other than watch you blokes stumble around playing Agatha Christie.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Flesh+Blood had weird casting. I couldn't get into it because of Tom Burlinson and Jack Thompson

It was Bruno Kirby who kept throwing me out of the movie. That's an actor that just doesn't belong in a medieval grunge movie.

Flesh+Blood

Oh my. I'd sort of blotted that one from my memory. The movie was so, very, extraordinarily bad...but I could not take my eyes off of RH. The commentary track is worth the rental for its raw, how did they keep from actually killing each other? verite.

The most naked (pun intended), and a little hateful, representation of a film experience...next to Terry Gilliam's willingness to come across as precisely as genius-unhinged as he is in documentaries and commentaries.

Ech. I wish I weren't remembering it now.

And there's that.

Because books.

That's what it was! And it was horrifyingly awful. But ... Rutger Hauer declaring himself as St. Martin or whatever was a really fascinating train wreck.

This was years and years ago, too. I wonder if I could sit through it now.

I had forgotten about Flesh and Blood. That was such a difficult film. The commentary sounds interesting, but there's no way I'll be watching that again.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I think his best role was as the little seen dad in Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, and possibly his little seen role in Stormy Monday. Basically as an asshole thug.

I love Sting best in Yellowbeard.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I love Sting best in this video. [link]

He has the World's Most Adorable Sweater. And an evil twin!

Now tagless for your comfort.

I think I have to go with Fortress Around Your Heart.

Rutger Hauer will always be Roy Batty to me but I did love him in Blood of Heroes.

I LOVED Blood of Heroes. Such a whacked-out cast.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

CNN is saying that John Hughes (the director/writer) died of a heart attack today.

So: what's your favorite John Hughes movie (as director or writer)?

For me, it's always The Breakfast Club. But followed VERY closely by Planes, Trains and Automobiles; Sixteen Candles; and Mr. Mom.
