I just saw an ad for a new miniseries on IFC - Bollywood Hero, starring Chris Kattan, apparently as himself (there's a clip of a guy begging him to do the Roxbury dance, and Kattan doesn't want to do it). He's apparently in India to star in a Bollywood musical. I'm not a very big Kattan fan, but I really want to see this.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Those are some awesome T-shirts. I have a friend who totally needs the "Big Trouble..." and "Tron" tees.
What was the Federation called in the Mirrorverse? 'Cuz I love their symbol of the Earth with a huge knife running through it. I need a t-shirt with that design....

The 2009 Venice Film Festival line-up was announced today, and one of the more interesting-looking films screening out-of-competition is Alex Cox's Repo Chick, described by the director on his blog as decidedly not a sequel to his own Repo Man, but "a story of different characters in a different world." And yet, Cox notes, that hasn't stopped Universal Studios from sending him a "cease and desist" letter, which he's chosen to ignore. So Universal has apparently decided to pull a two-year-old Jude Law organ-stealing vehicle called Repossession Mambo off their shelves and release it next year as Repo Men.
Oh for goodness sakes.
Versus is an excellent time. It's sort of like Evil Dead 2, but with Yakuza. And then you add in a little bit of Highlander, and a touch of Police Squad.
And the zombies with guns are fantastic.
I just picked up that DVD, Strega. Will try to watch it very soon. Heard good things about it, so nice to hear some confirmation.
I saw Moon yesterday, and wow! Sam Rockwell continues to be one of my favorite actors. He's amazing in this movie, and the movie itself is excellent. Everyone should go see it immediately. It's really stuck with me.
