Airbender live action/drawing comparison. Nice how Dev's playing the lightest-skinned of the 4.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Hobbit casting rumor:
Tennant, McAvoy and Radcliffe in running for Bilbo Baggins?
When Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro get The Hobbit going before cameras soon, Ian Holm won't be back in big rubber feet. Now three names are increasingly being rumored as options for the part of Bilbo Baggins, Dr. Who's David Tennant, Narnia's James McAvoy and Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe.
(Found at Wizard News.)
Huh. I suppose Radcliffe looks the part most, but I'd really rather see McAvoy get the role despite his very un-hobbity skinnyness.
Please keep Tennant and McAvoy away from anything Peter Jackson related!
Please keep Tennant and McAvoy away from anything Peter Jackson related!
Why?
Also, I don't think Del Toro is just going to be following orders.
Radcliffe is too damn young for Bilbo Baggins, who is a rapidly-approaching middle aged hobbit in the book. That's the whole point about him taking off for his Big Adventure--it starts out as a midlife crisis.
ita, because I really despised what Jackson and company did with LotR and really like Ten Inch and McAvoy.
I highly recommend (500) Days of Summer.
