You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

My BFF's brother (a writer) told me he didn't think Mad Max Fury Road had much of a story, just car chases. I asked him if he'd been awake. He's gonna be all offended and I don't care.

Guy I work with thought it was a terrible movie for much the same reason. I gives him the side-eye, because

a) I can only assume that he believes stories only happen to people with a Y chromosome, and
2. even if it were true, they were awesome car chases.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Yeah, that was one seriously underwhelming trailer. Which is all I've seen of Jesse Eisenberg's Luthor, but I... I was going to say I kind of like him, but I may just be kind of liking the fact that he appears to be fully awake and enjoying being there, in stark contrast to Supes and Bats. If I *had* to watch a performance going badly wrong, I'd definitely opt for misguided but lively over faithful in the most dull, plodding, soul-sucked spirit possible.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Do they understand that story can happen during the car chases and not just in between?

Edited for clarity: regarding Fury Road

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I get the feeling there may not be too much of it in between either.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

So, I may have accidentally (in terms of not realizing that this would be the outcome) have put a Spanish-language movie with major homosexual themes onto the Netflix history of someone who is not me.

In my defense, it was not my idea.

To make it even better, said person is a white boy in college who, to my knowledge, is neither queer nor a Spanish speaker.

You've just widened his horizons with the recommendations Netflix is no doubt preparing as we speak.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Weirdly, the top recommendation today on his Netflix was Practical Magic, so who even knows.

Finally watched Focus. It is, in my head, an ita movie and I was kinda not ready to watch it because of that, but today I did and...it's good. Kinda an extended Hustle episode, but that works for me.

Always Anti-fascist!

I liked it too, and also thought that she would enjoy it. Sexy for a Will Smith joint.
