How much is Cumberbatch in it? Billy Bulger is one of my favorites.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Not a whole lot. His Boston accent is quite good and he underplays nicely.
He's just so wrong physically.
Forget Cumberbatch. I turned down an invitation to a Black Mass screening because I knew I wouldn't be able to stand Depp's hair and makeup for 2+ hours.
Just imagine him telling people to buy a Chrysler and get off his damn lawn, like Bill Hader spoofing those Clint Eastwood ads.
As I reported on Twitter, I have seen The Martian and it is good.
ETA: It had actual women doing actual jobs (well) and talking to other actual women. And actual people of color doing actual jobs (well) and talking to other people of color. Clearly, it takes place in the future.
I am really looking forward to seeing it!
The performances are all really good, but it's kind of plodding. It doesn't really explore the story, just kinda... tells it.
I feel that way about a lot of bio pics, so not too surprising. I kinda want to see it just to see Depp's performance.
I made the mistake of renting Playing It Cool last night. Oh my Lord, it should have been titled Navel-Gazing: The Movie. When I fast-forward through most of a Chris Evans romcom you know it's intolerable.

I'm more curious about which parts caused you to watch--or even pause.
