he could be a Colonel giving shit to all the young guys
Nah, he wouldn't. Mainly because he's Navy and the Navy doesn't have Colonels. They do have Commanders, though, and it would be extremely possible he'd be one. And he'd still be flying.
Edited to add: I know from whence I speak; I was stationed with Topgun and transferred out the year before the movie was made.
Lewis Black as Anger
A rare case where being redundant is a great thing.
Oh, duh! I forgot they were Navy pilots, I thought they were Air Force...
There were, occasionally, Air Force pilots who came through the course. More in the early days of the squadron, during the Vietnamese war. I don't think the AF had their own school yet; they do now.
Awesome movie aside, I can't stop watching the trailers for Fury Road. And the more I watch, the more I am awed by the editor and sound mixer, having now heard the full tracks samples were taken from. And also the fact that the awesome drums and horns are actually from the movie. It makes me want movie trailer end credits and awards. I want this talent acknowledged and celebrated.
Self/Less
was enjoyable in that generic Hollywood action thriller sort of way.
Is Ben Kingsley in Acadamy Award Winning Actor mode or A Sound of Thunder/Uwe Boll videogame movie overacting mode?
He's in
restrained I'm only in a few minutes of this film mode.
I can delete if that's too spoilery.
If you think you might enjoy Magic Mike XXL, you will enjoy it! It is good times. And so many women over 40! It even briefly passes the Bechtel test.
