I'm actually pretty Doylist a lot of the time, but I'm also not going to completely excuse clunky workarounds or poor writing choices.

I've been in my part of fandom so long, I almost have a hard time understanding why people get worked up over canon they don't like. I mean, of course I understand it, but there's also a part of me that's like "Canon isn't the boss of us!"

Have I any original thoughts? Not at the moment.
Second viewing really helped mute down my "This movie is about to burst at the seams!" reaction from opening night. I'd imagine familiarity was more responsible for it making more sense than seeing the scene I'd missed in Round One, so it really is a film that improves with repeated watching.

The movie has been out for 5 days, and I'm already weary of people bitching about how much it sucked, and the people who loved it being all defensive and passive aggressive.
I was weary of this before the movie even came out.
"Well, maybe Charisma shouldn't have done so much blow she had to change her hairstyle every week and go to rehab and get written out of the show."
But dontcha know she was written out because she was knocked up? ::eyeroll::
WHICH IS THE REAL TRUTH. (No, really, the knocked-up narrative is the dominant one and proves Joss is a misogynist monster, and I haven't heard much about this rehab thing.)
Finally saw the movie last night. Got to attend it with a bunch of local folks...
My opinion is ... mixed. Too much fighty-fighty for me. And apparently nobody shared a copy of the scripts for either IM3 or CA:TWS with Joss? Because from what I could tell, neither of those movies happened in the continuity of this one (aside from the veiled reference to Bucky).
I didn't buy Natasha and Bruce--especially since he was deflecting so hard I felt like Natasha wasn't respecting his boundaries.
I did like that we got to see a bunch of Natasha's backstory, which I thought was effectively conveyed.
I did NOT recognize Andy Serkis.
I dunno. I'm told it was funny, and there were a few quips, but it just didn't hold together as well for me as the first one: plot-wise, or thematically, or emotionally. Too much fighting, not enough character.
And the conversation about Pepper and Jane was the most damnably awkward lampshade I've ever seen.
I give it a B at best. But at least I don't care enough about any of the ships to feel PERSONALLY BETRAYED.

It was very weird being the one to tell the table who the Inhumans are, which I only know because of you all (and Metafilter).

As I recall, we always got that scuttlebutt from directly within the writer's room from our mole there (Scrappy is close friends with Jane E).
