Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Harve Presnell, RIP.
Aw. He was one of my favorite, "It's that Guy"s.
Mr. Parker! Man, his TV career goes back to the 50s!
Mr Parker! That's definitely how I remember him most fondly.
I thought he was amazing in Unsinkable Molly Brown. Really--I had a huge crush on him when I was 7 or 8. He's has a wonderful baritone. You can get a sense of him in this clip: [link]
Am I mean if I post that that must have been a very emotional table for three? Maybe just evil, like Keith.(He has been dressing better lately, at that.)
Me and D are watching Gran Torino, me for the second time. It's so hard not to telegraph what's about to happen in advance. When Thao was on his way home from work and the gang pulled up D said, "oh no." and I blurted out, "do you want to put the DVD in the freezer?"
Damn, but I'd forgotten what a fantastic, old school western Silverado is.
Silverado is awesome. I love the music and the whole epic sweep of it.
