Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

It's playing in SF next week, I think. I saw the trailer for it and it looked really funny.
Well, it's not a comedy. It is partly dark comedy, partly drama. However, it's very realistic. This is truly what it feels like to be a female soldier in IDF.
(Actually, the only part which isn't realistic is the very beginning, where you'll see a group of 30+ soldiers try to get on a bus to the base. Since I've been on the bus on my way to the specific base more than once, I can tell you that the real number of soldiers that are fighting their way to get on the damn bus is more in the area of 80+ to 100+ at any given time. I was once two hours late because of this).
It gives me the same awkward sense of unease that the Peanuts movie trailer does.
That was great. Of course it was great. They're always great. I love those guys.
Hah! That was fun.
Owen LOVES Honest Trailers. He was so happy they did GotG.
I got my GotG Blu-Ray yesterday and cashed in my digital copy, so I was able to watch half of it last night even though my blu ray player died. That movie really is a lot of fun.
By the way, and nerdily, I originally didn't love that Disney decided to ignore the other studios with their Ultraviolet consensus and roll their own system for digital copies of movies, but now that it's up and running Disney Movies Anywhere is actually awesome. Way better than Ultraviolet, in fact, which has mostly been annoying when it should be easy. I linked my account to Disney Movies Anywhere every Disney movie I had ever registered showed up, including a couple that didn't originally have digital copies at all - very generous! My previously useless digital copy of the Avengers suddenly became available with modern services! Combine that with the fact that I can link my account to Google Play, Vudu, and iTunes at the same time and download copies from whichever services I want whenever I want, so I can easily access the movies and download them to basically any device, and it's about as good as I could ever hope a DRM-encumbered service to be. Now I want the other studios to scrap Ultraviolet and join on with DMA!
Is this another situation where there are cool extra features on the Blu Ray that aren't on the regular DVD?
