Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Since it's directed JJ Abrams, I expect the rest of the film will be *exactly* like this trailer: a series of pretty vignettes that have nothing to do with each other, and make no sense when viewed in sequence.

Tom, I expect you are correct. And I really distrust JJ Abrams, but it's going to be very hard NOT to be in line to see this on opening day. Despite everything.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I suspect I'll have fewer reservations because while Star Trek was mostly still near and dear to my heart when Abrams took his swing at it, I've had decades of books I didn't like and three prequel movies to dispel any good feelings about Star Wars.

I'm not a fan of Abrams' style, but can he really do worse than Jar Jar Binks?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Thanks to conversations many years ago, I cannot see Tom Hardy in Star Trek: Nemesis and not imagine him with a Jilli-esque top hat and parasol to go with that sparkly black gown his character wears.

Ha! And damn, I still want that fabric.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hey. New board.

I am excited because i never liked original star trek, preferring star wars, and J J Abrams' Star Trek movies were both pretty good Star Wars movies.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My reaction was, "Well Ok then," which is one level above "meh."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I am unexpectedly excited. I got all giddy hearing the familiar sound effects and music. Also I think it's cool that the only faces in the trailer are those of a black man, a white woman, and a Latino man.

And that cute little droid on a soccer ball!

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

My reaction aligns pretty well with tommyrot's, although I did have a brief moment of "X-WINGS YAY!!"

In other news...hey, how did I not know before that Danny Strong co-wrote Mockingjay?
