Jamie McKelvie suggested Emily Blunt, which is sort of a curveball, but I can see it.
Huh. I liked her a lot in Edge of Tomorrow, where she made a fab action heroine. Plus it would kinda be a full circle since they originally tapped her as their Black Widow...
I don't know much about her other than what I read from wiki -- she's got super strength and can fly (I think?) and she's tall and blonde. Does she have any specific personality traits? Like, Tony is an arrogant asshole, Steve is earnest and decent, Bruce is tormented, etc. What's Carol like?
I learned on Twitter that she's a big
Star Wars
nerd, and also she punches dinosaurs.
I would imagine Marvel would want to cast Carol Danvers younger. Katee Sackhoff is 34 this year, so will be 38 when the movie comes out.
OMG, the public must be protected from such a mummified hag appearing as a Marvel hero!
Someone on some website (which narrows it down, of course) was saying that the guy they've cast as Black Panther is too old.

Hey, I'm not endorsing that school of thought. Just that Hollywood has a long standing history of sexism that makes it unlikely for them to have an actress pushing 40 headline their potential franchise-making vehicle. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.
OK, the AoU teaser during SHIELD was a lot of fun. It looked like
Mjolnir actually moved a bit for Steve
which I loved.
I thought I saw that too, Kalshane! Isn't
he able to pick it up in the comics? I mean, Steve seems like one of the dudes who WOULD be close to worthy.
Someone on Twitter suggested Anna Torv for Carol, which I could go along with. (Although I think I've read, like, four panels of a Captain Marvel comic....) But still, Katee Sackoff seems so perfect for it, and lack of height certainly didn't interfere with casting RDJ.
Thanks to PMM, now I need to add: 5) I want to see BC do a comedy.
Penguins of Madagascar!
Though technically, that would be hearing him do a comedy.
P-C: Yes, he's done it before. I'm not super-versed in the comics lore, but I believe at times
Mjolnir's measure of worthiness depends on the situation at hand. Which is the writer's answer for "Why doesn't so and so just grab Thor's hammer?" all the time. As for the teaser, Thor's grin fading when the hammer twitched was great, too.
