having to work for the government.
That could be interesting. Steve is perceived as "My country right or wrong" but he's an idealist and he saw how corruption can taint good organizations. Tony is a practitioner of realpolitik and has no problem with using whatever tools he can get his mitts on. But he's also seen his tech abused by corruption.
I do think that the MCU has set a nice precedent for things going very much NOT in line with comics canon (e.g. what happened with Extremis), so maybe I don't have to worry
quite
so much.
My dissatisfaction with the potential Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange news is multi-faceted: 1) the feeling that there have been too many Marvel movies with white dude leads already, 2) I'm still angry that there are no Black Widow move plans, 3) Benedict Cumberbatch certainly can do the role in his sleep, so as a choice, it feels kinda boring and predictable?, 4) my limited knowledge of Dr. Strange is that he's a brilliant, mysterious asshole, and I've seen Benedict Cumberbatch play this type of character so much recently that I don't feel compelled to see him do it in another franchise.
Thanks to PMM, now I need to add: 5) I want to see BC do a comedy.
I have the Cumberbatch fatigue. I think he's a fine, interesting actor, but I feel he is way overexposed at this point. I have a less intense but similar feelings about Jennifer Lawrence -- I like Lawrence A LOT yet someone invoked her name in Captain Marvel casting game and my first reaction was to groan.

Katee Sackhoff all the way, bay-bee!
Well, as a whiner, I'm glad Black Widow doesn't get a movie. If it means she gets second billing in *all* those movies, maybe I'll regret my choices.
Considering Sherlock, I feel like I've seen Cumberbatch do comedy. What I need from him now is porn.
Need to know Carol Danvers casting. I'm not much of a Sackhoff fan, but I will support her for this.
I've seen the Cumberbatch fatigue described as "Cumberbacklash."
Jamie McKelvie suggested Emily Blunt, which is sort of a curveball, but I can see it.
Yvonne Strahovski is another name that comes up.
So Black Panther is supposed to be in Cap 3 and we see Cap's shield broken in the AoU trailer. I'm wondering if Steve will be asking T'challa to fix it.
Jennifer Morrison for Carol. I think she'd be awesome in the part.
I'm seeing other people speculating along the same lines I've been since the Civil War notion came out that it's going to involve the aftermath of both CA:TWS and whatever happens in AoU. Which, I'd be down with, honestly.
I mean, things are set up in such a way that they could totally wind up with a shirtless bear fight. (Look, that's not my only take away from that arc, OK? It's just the one I come back to.)
