Okay, over on FB Victor got me curious enough to watch the trailer for 50 Shades of Grey.
Ha, whereas on FB I clicked on a link my cousin had posted, which was an article giving women 6 reasons not to watch it. One of those reasons was Because Christianity and now I'm feeling all dirty and "get off my side, you're making my side look bad."
6 reasons not to watch it.
Please tell me reason #1 is because it was poorly written Twilight fanfic.
...yeah, I can dream.
I read that same article Shrift and kept thinking "my reasons are not your reasons". I think there are much better arguements to be made against wasting any cash on the flick. Starting with Steph's.
I read the wiki summary of the stories, and that doesn't entice me any further. The trailer leaves me uninspired. The plot doesn't seemed based in reality, what there is of it. The only reason my interest was peaked was because CKR has a minor role in it.
Yeah, the only interest I had was in Jamie Dornan (who apparently the fans are saying isn't hot enough, in case you needed further proof of
how crazy they are
how tastes differ). But even he's not pretty enough to subject myself to that.
As a lover of fanfic, and knowing that some authors take their fics and change the name to turn them into original fiction, I'm not offended by the idea of fic going mainstream in this sense. And I shouldn't say this because I can't judge for not having read this particular one, but my god, there is so much good fic out there that could be converted first to original fiction, and then opted for a movie. But I have to wonder, why this particular one (and I realize that only a small margin of fic writers turn their fanfic into non-fiction)? (maybe that's a question for any story that get's opted to either be published, or given movie rights).
Calli,
such a strong recommendation from you. I am now cautiously excited about seeing the movie. Your white font intrigues me and is EXACTLY the kind of shit I am totally into.

Dude is not attractive. Ugh.

I'm not offended by fanfic going mainstream, in a general sense. In this *specific* instance, though, it's horribly, execrably written fanfic of a horrible book series.
But I have to wonder, why this particular one
People dig Twilight?
You got me there, Steph.
Okay, for someone who loved the music of Once but was underwhelmed by the movie, will I like Begin Again? I adore Mark Ruffalo, kind of am frightened by Keira Knightley. I listened to some of the soundtrack bites on iTunes and was not impressed. But I'm also dying for some more MR goodness that isn't a dumb romantic comedy.
Dude is not attractive. Ugh.
Really? (I am honestly gobsmacked, not being a snot). Do you watch Once Upon a Time? I mean, he's been gone since Season 1, but I loved him on the show and am so disappointed that he's got another gig that I wouldn't go to unless you paid me.
Ah well, takes all kinds. Or, more for me. Or something.
