Zen, I truly appreciate you asking that question and the responses to it. Snowpiercer off the see in theater list.
Check.
A friend wants me to see the new Apes movie, but I don't think I can, for the same reason.
It gave me the chance to explain that my big, ugly cry movie is still Project X.
Animals in jeopardy. No good for me.
Yep, nope, you should absolutely not see the new Apes movie, bonny.
Just the trailer alone for the Apes movie left me with the impression that the movie was both (1) stressful and (2) upsetting. I knew I'd be passing on that one.
Good thing GotG opens soon.

Can. Not. Wait!
Thanks, P-C. Confirmation is good.
In the theater, I saw people with their hands over their faces and wondered for a minute what was wrong with me.
Damn. I saw it at iPic (seeing it at a luxury theatre? very weird), so I didn't see any audience reaction at all from my recliner.
Kinda wish I had, because now I'm curious.

I was one of those people at my theater, but I'm usually one of those people.

Yeah, me too. If I think something may too much for me, I NOPE out pretty quickly.
As another buffista who gets stressed out by too much gore, I want to thank everyone here for being so good as to confirm/reassure and not judge.
and not judge.
Oh, god yes, thanks for this. I've been told by a non-Buffista that I *must* endure works of fiction (books/films/TV) that are deeply upsetting to me, because Art. And something something "Art is supposed to destroy your complacency," something something "all you want is empty-headed pablum!"
I probably don't need to say that I avoid that person like the Black Death, huh? Sheesh.
