I was also mildly disappointed that it wasn't
Jenny Agutter's character kicking ass
.
Me TOO! I so wanted that to be the case.
Following that, I had to ask
why wouldn't she just take off her jacket
for cripe's sake.
Anyway, I loved the movie much more than I expected to. I didn't really like the first one but this felt so different and was action, action, ACTION!
One of the people with me kept speculating that
Magneto might cameo in Avengers 2
as a result of the
mid-credit scene.
I can't imagine that both for 'don't cross the streams' reasons and for economic reasons.
Now I can't wait for A2 OR Xnext.
Doesn't this also preemptively
kind of shit on the Peggy Carter series
?
Also, I guess Marvel has a
Dr. Strange
movie in the pipeline.
Tom, I don't know why it would.
Zola said the infiltration of SHIELD slowly grew over time.
I imagine that
back in Peggy's day
things were still relatively straight-forward.
Following that, I had to ask
Well, by the time
she realized what the thing on her jacket was, Pierce had a gun on her. Didn't look like she had much opportunity to remove it.
Anyway, I loved the movie much more than I expected to. I didn't really like the first one but this felt so different and was action, action, ACTION!
Oh yeah. I liked the first one okay but wasn't a huge fan or anything, but this was much more style. Every Marvel movie is a different genre, even though they do share similar sensibilities that allow me to enjoy them regardless.
Doesn't this also preemptively
How so?
We learned from the Agent Carter one-shot that she founded S.H.I.E.L.D. with Howard Stark. I assumed a series would be set during that time.
And I totally glommed on to the
Dr. Strange reference
as potential confirmation that it's happening. It's been discussed a lot; I think they've mentioned it before.
What was the
Dr Strange reference?
I need to read more comics.
When
Sitwell (R.I.P.) was listing dangerous people identified by the Algorithm, Stephen Strange was among the names. Dr. Strange is both a medical doctor and a doctor of MAGIC. I haven't read much with him, but he's a pretty cool character. Because MAGIC.
People who've seen the trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, the internet has responded to one scene, and it is made of awesome: [link]
That's fantastic. Sometimes I just love the internet.
Oh, man, this movie.
I loved
how Steve ends up at the end fighting in the WWII version of his uniform, back from when he had Bucky, and when he had the certainty that what he was doing was right.
Everything with
Falcon was gold. And I was thrilled that my theater had so many African-Americans in it, and they were so psyched about Fury and Falcon.
There were definitely people in my theater
who didn't know that Bucky was the Winter Soldier -- people beside my husband. There were several gasps.
Husband's comment was
Why did they call it "Winter Soldier" when it actually was mostly set up for a future movie? I said because calling it "Captain America: SHIELD is Evil" would give away too much.
I had to smile every time I saw
Natasha's little arrow necklace. But I totally missed Danny Pudi saying anything about Hawkeye. I did catch the Dr. Strange reference.
I have so many other thoughts! I can't even organize them, because I'm too busy having them.
