I finally saw Robot and Frank over the weekend. Very funny and touching.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I know nothing at all about the source material, but I do like the trailer!
I also know nothing about the source material, but I can get behind a gun-toting raccoon riding a sentient plant.
this is what I'm saying.
Okay, even without the raccoon, "Hooked on a Feeling" would have, uh, hooked me. That looks like FUN.
Ha! Guardians of the Galaxy was such a whackadoodle concept, where Marvel brazenly created characters that were knockoffs of DC characters (not evident here) and sent the X-Men into space (that's where Prof. Xavier wound up marrying his Galactic Space Wife)
Lelandra!
(I learned all my X-Men from the cartoon.)
I remember reading the X-Men in space comics. I don't remember the Guardians, though.
My only experience with them was their one appearance on Avengers: EMH and Starlord was voiced by Steve Downes (The Master Chief from Halo.)
Downes is actually the morning DJ on one of the local stations around here (which is actually where Bungie decided to hire him from, as they were originally based in Chicago before MS bought them) and it's still a weird disconnect some mornings hearing the Master Chief shilling for AT&T and talking about "Today in rock history".
I think you might be confusing the Guardians of the Galaxy with the Starjammers, Hec.
Definitely looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy. It looks like it takes itself as unseriously as the concept demands.
And the trailer gets bonus points for gratuitous Blue Swede.
