Okay, it doesn't necessarily sound like it will happen for sure, but still, this: [link] is making me react like this: [link]

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I share your squee.
Please let them make it. Please let them not fuck it up.
I loved the linked movie universes. They don't have to reinvent the wheel with each group of characters--unless you're dealing with mutants.
BTW, finally saw 12 Years a Slave. Magnificent movie. Hope it wins loads more awards. Never want to see it again. The two worst scenes are seared in my brain anyway, so unless there's an onset of senility, I won't be forgetting the movie anytime soon.
I highly recommend it. And it is more than a spinach movie because the acting is magnificent. But ohohoh the buttons it may push - some you might not have known you had.
I saw "The LEGO Movie" today. And now I'll be singing THAT SONG for days.
But it was hella fun. I suspect I missed a lot of jokes because there was so much going on screen at all times.
My 92 year old Mother is wondering if she'd like the Lego movie. The thing is she is totally not into comics. So how many of the adult jokes can you get if you don't, for example, know that Batman's parents are dead and that he lives in a gloomy mansion and so on. I mean Mom is pretty up there on music. But the whole SciFi/Fantasy/Comic book part of popular culture just never intersected with her She does like Orphan Black, but that is pretty self-sufficient in terms of the SciFi aspect. YOu don't need to have seen a ton of other shows or movies to get it.
There are only a few jokes like that, Typo Boy. The reference humor is great, but most of the humor is general cleverness and fun.
I first spotted this picture in an LotR gaming book
This is in the Glittering Caves during the Battle of Helm's Deep. On the other side of the column, there's an Orc, and Eowyn has obvious been kicking some serious ass, by the blood on her hands. Where is this scene! I was praying it would be in the Extended version. Did they decide to save her badassery for Return of the King? Did they want to make it something that she only pulled out after Aragorn told her not to pine for him?
If I ever meet Peter Jackson, I'm goign to have words with him about Eowyn.
