And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah, no. I feel like I normally like Sady Doyle's writing, but in this case she's willfully ignoring the entire second half of the movie in order to make her point.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Lex Luthor in the Batman/Superman movie. That makes casting Ben Affleck as Batman look good. I am so rooting for this film to bomb.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I can see Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor much more easily than I can see Ben Affleck as Batman.

Punishingly Intricate

I am so rooting for this film to bomb.

Why? Wouldn't it be better if it actually somehow great?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I think the bigger fear is that it will suck, but do well financially.

Of course.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah I think JE already played Lex Luthor when he played Mark Zuckerberg. So I have no problems with that casting. They need to switch directors though.

I would be so excited for this movie if it was being made by anyone else. But every time I think the casting choices have great potential, I remember they're going to be directed by Zach Snyder, so who cares.

And this deserves its own post...THE LEGO MOVIE. OMG you guys. SO SO good. Over on FB I described it as Toy Story meets The Matrix. Hilarious from start to finish, great action scenes, and a really astounding level of detail in the animation. It almost looks like stop-motion.

The voice casting is spot-on. Allison Brie...wow. She's not in the trailers (I don't think), but the character she plays is perfect. Will Arnett's Batman is also amazing. 1980's-something Space Guy may be the only time I've ever liked Charlie Day. (I didn't hate him in Pacific Rim but he was my least favorite thing about that film.)

I think I need to see it again to catch all the background jokes I missed the first time around.

Highly recommend for all ages.

brillig

The previews looked like it was one of those "You'll only get everything if you're a geek" movies.
