Oh, Steph, go see it!! It's amazing! Are you getting both versions?

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
We are getting both versions! I told Tim we could go see just one (tickets are $20 for each showing, and we are cheap), and he said "We HAVE to see them both!"
quester, Catching Fire talk starts here-ish: Anne W. "Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai" Nov 22, 2013 1:49:57 pm PST In related news, I finally saw it! So many things just made me think of the book, in a good way. Like, the Avox just standing in the background. And basically half the characters, about whom I have much stronger feelings than the movie would have given a viewer, I think.
Oh, so at the theater, I'm watching this preview/feature thing with interviews for a movie about SEALS or whatever, and I turn to my friend and say, "So this movie is about everyone except Marky Mark dying?" ...and then the title of the film comes on screen. Lone Survivor. So, yeah.
Thanks for the link Jesse.

When I saw this trailer with Emmett I leaned over and whispered to Emmett, "I know which one survives..."
I'd just like to caution anyone considering the National Theatre Frankenstein that it's unexpectedly rapey if that's something that will be a trigger.
Huh. I'm glad to know that ahead of time, so I'm prepared.
Edited to add some coherency. We didn't know going into Frankenstein and were unpleasantly surprised.
More info below in spoiler font:
It's the Monster who is rapey, so if you have fond feelings for one of the actors, maybe see it when he's playing Frankenstein and not the Monster.
I like both actors fairly equally, so I'm just glad to be prepared.
