Speaking of whom, Hobbit part 2 trailer is out.
SO MUCH to nitpick (new Elf character! Legolas for some reason!) but oh man, I could listen to Smaug taunt Bilbo all day.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I love Bendypants Crumblybatch's Smaug voice.
Oh I'm looking forward to the Bilbo-Smaug snark-off.
Aaaaugh, Mirkwood is going to be such a bad section for me. (I'm assuming we're spoilerfonting this stuff?)
If it's not in the trailer, I guess so.
I'm also guessing that if the first movie didn't raise the thread, the original Middle Earth haven has passed into the West, right?
eta: returns from trailer--that looked like Mirkwood to me--am I remembering wrong?
Nope, I don't think you're remembering wrong. I'm going to need reports from people about where I'll need to close my eyes during the movie.

I asked about this last year, and nobody seemed interested in bringing back the old thread.
Things I wasn't going to guess:
Daniel César Martín Brühl González Domingo goes by Daniel Brühl. Well, no, I might guess that. But I wouldn't have guessed that Daniel Brühl was born Daniel César Martín Brühl González Domingo. Spanish mother, German father, born in Spain because his mother didn't trust German hospitals, grew up in Germany, summered in Spain, raised trilingual speaking German, Spanish, and Catalan.
The sloth-stalk continues...
OK, I think Gravity is amazing, but I also think that people squicked by the Open Water scenario should probably stay away. All others: see it on as big a screen and as Dolby-Atmosy as possible.
How much do I love that a major plot point is a direct lift from Wall-E ? A lot.
How much do I love that a major plot point is
YES YES YES.
