Gwen: Demon, OK? The whole nine—cloven feet and horns and teeth. He wasn't wearing lamé though. Lorne: Yeah, the evil ones can't pull it off. It gets camp.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

As I said--bad I was expecting. Offended was the surprise. Washed my brain out with some Louis CK "Of course...but maybe?". Like a charm! Perfect level of offended.

brillig

One thing I found impressive in World War Z was the bit where our hero has found the disease samples, turns around, and finds the zombie staring at him through the closed door. From there till when Gerry walks out the door to the other wing I found to be a nice piece of filmmaking--very few words, absolute "this works or I'm dead" situation.

Though the lack of basic weapon control (banging your crowbar into cabinets) and "watch where you put your damned feet!" was annoying.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

have you all seen Pitch Perfect? I had no idea, but I am really enjoying this film. It is funny and I love the singing.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I finished Pitch Perfect. It is a great movie y'all. Funny and the acting is pretty good. Highly recommend it if you are into musical comedies.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I liked it, didn't love it. You know Anna Kendrick has a big single with the cups song now?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

the cups song? wha?

I was expecting that it was going to be the worst movie ever, so my low expectations helped elevate this movie!

I'm with Amy: I was just so pleased. I like that they generally did okay with women of different racial/ethnic backgrounds. Wasn't perfect, but about as good as one could hope. I thought body size issues were dealt with okay as well.

The romance parts didn't bug me.

Because books.

Sara actually asked if we could all watch it one night last winter, my parents included, and everyone loved it. I'm a sucker for acapella. I'm spelling that wrong, aren't I?

The cups song is the one Anna Kendrick's character uses for her audition, when she sits on the stage and stacks and restacks the red cups while she's singing.
