I saw "The Bling Ring" - talk about moving from 1 horror to another. It was amusing and I like the director's style. The movie wasn't about anything though. Like I felt the movie didn't say much about the people or about the society that produces these people.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I didn't like the original chibi vampire movie, so I bailed on the second. True to the spirit didn't sound like they'd fix it.
I had to take a break from the 2012 Anna Karenina to read about the costumes. They're driving me nuts. I guess people don't want to be the V&A museum, but still...I find it really distracting when people aren't observing any clear level of nudity taboo or methods of displaying opulence or general codes. I mean--I don't have to understand the code, but I want more of one than 50s bodice, accurate silhouettes, Anna most 50s, less 50s as you spiral out from her...except for that one chick, yadda, yadda.
I'm sure it was fun to design, fun to wear, but it's distracting the fun out of me to watch.
I have had it up to here with science fiction fans who think there's just one Ashmore boy, or who don't know who Joe Morton is.
We need to have standards, dammit!
Not sure who any Ashmore is, but Joe Morton? Rilly?
Not sure who any Ashmore is
Shawn Ashmore = Iceman. Aaron Ashmore = Icetwin, a.k.a. Troy Vandegraff, a.k.a. Jimmy Olsen.
See, if we have standards, I will not meet them.
Which maybe is okay, I'm a dilettante at fannishness at best.
What about if I know there's 2 Ashmores, but can NEVEREVER remember which one is which? Is that an acceptable (if not exemplary) standard?
I do know who Joe Morton is, FTR.
Shawn is the one in the X-Men movies. Aaron is the other one.
Shawn is the one in the X-Men movies. Aaron is the other one.
But which was in The Following? Or was Ged in Wizard of Earthsea? Etc. I'd need to keep a running tally.
I'm fairly sure Shawn was also in the Wizard of Earthsea. I feel like he was kind of the greater Ashmore for a while, though that may not still be true.
