I saw In A World last night and really enjoyed it. Funny, loaded with complicated, believable relationships and charming as hell. Written and directed by a woman, too. A lovely little movie.

TCM has "Psycho" on now. They are doing a Hitchcock marathon.
I just turned it on!
I haven't seen this movie from the beginning in a LONG time.
It's one of my favorites. I'll have to see what comes on next.
I think the marathon ends with this. Next is "The Lodger."
oh! "The Lodger" is a Hitchcock too.
Frenzy is at 3:30.
Just saw World's End.
Question--was the scene near the start of the movie where Gary was
I think the answer is probably - yes. Because I know at least one person who had to go to 12-step meetings during in-patient psych care. I didn't pick up on the hospital aspect, though, I just assumed 12-step.
I would say that World's End is easily my favorite of the trio, and I will readily admit that's partially because the blue goo allowed me to thorougly enjoy the fight scenes without getting hung up on the gore. I'd see it again in a heartbeat. Also, kind of in love with Nick Frost right now.
But smonster, my conclusion was not only that it was in an institution, but that it also wasn't twelve step but related to the suicide attempts instead. In retrospect, it didn't feel like he'd had help for addiction but rather for being suicidal.
I agree that it was suicidal crisis that Gary was dealing with. I assumed that was the reason he refused to roll up his sleeves in the (fucking awesome) scene in the golf course cabin. I don't think he would give a shit about them seeing old track marks, he knows they know that, but it's in character that he would NOT want them to know his recent suicide attempt.
That movie was awesome as all hell, and the gate crashing link that Jessica posted make me want to go see Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz again.
That Primal Scream song (Loaded) was EVERYWHERE in the movie. It was at the start of the film, it was in the car on the mix tape, it was quoted... definitely once, but maybe more than once?
