I don't give a good gorram about relevant, Wash. Or objective. And I ain't so afraid of losing something that I ain't gonna try to have it. You and I would make one beautiful baby. And I want to meet that child one day. Period.

"Man Who Fell to Earth" is on free Comcast.

Since 90% of Buffistas have seen more films than I have this is probably redundant, but in case you missed it:

1) Starring David Bowie

2) Well written and directed. Think of it as a film version of "Stranger in a Strange Land" minus Heinlein's tendency in his later years to masturbate all over the manuscript.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Also Nicoals Roeg did a stellar run of movies in that era. Man Who Fell to Earth was probably his most radical, but given the likes of Walkabout, Don't Look Now & Bad Timing he was pound for pound one the great directors of that time period.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I wrote about Roeg for Hilobrow.

Thanks for sharing that. That is a little gem of a tribute, worthy of the man it was about.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

This is a picture of Christopher Nolan's wife (Emma Thomas) and I believe his child?

Compassionately intolerant

Cuteness bomb. Maybe even cuter than Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ermagerd. That's Anaximandicute!

Which reminds me of something I need to post in the Show thread.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

BTW, Nolan has 4 kids and he does not have an email account. WTF. Wow.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

If that means Nolan hasn't been aware of what's going on with the interwebs the past few days, it's probably better for his peace of mind.
