Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

I'm rewatching Winter's Bone. Such a crazy good movie, and Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes are so crazy good in it.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

So I finally saw Man of Steel at the dollar(-fifty) cinema and....I didn't hate it? I thought it was c+/B- as superhero movies go, although that's not what you should expect from a Superman movie.

I thought Cavill did a good job with Kal-El, and the pacing was mostly OK. I did get a feeling, particularly towards the end, that this movie was more Miracleman-esque(or possibly Warren Ellis-esque) than Supes-ish.

I just read a plot synopsis of City of Bones, and I'll never get those ten minutes back.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH and I watched Now You See Me last night because it was there and we were in the mood for a heist movie.

I feel like this movie should have come with an asterisk and a warning label that said "Note: contains no actual heists. May induce drowsiness."

Other than the one very brief and disappointing car chase, I think literally every other scene in the movie was just people standing around talking about the plot. Maybe 10% of this movie was the plot actually happening, vs 90% standing around talking about it. Good lord, what a waste.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

But did you see ME? (You didn't see me. It was a big crowd scene. But I'm a few rows behind the French guy they zoom in on)

Aw man! I wish I'd known to look!

I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can watch Kevin Zegers' part in GIFs on Tumblr.

Some day I'll have to watch it and find myself. I'm also in S3 of Treme, in theory. As are my dog and my car. Much cooler, IMHO, and definitely a better experience.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Saw World's End. I think I enjoyed it more than my sister, but she admits there were very funny and clever bits. And we did yell the "What the fuck does WTF mean?" "What the fuck just happened?" "Oh, what the fuck!" dialogue to each other, so there.

Not that I can quote much, but I think the style of Pegg's character's oratory might be contagious. And I love to pieces Nick Frost. I don't know if that will ever go away.

...just one Cornetto, give it to me...
