Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I took the opportunity to see Black Fish this afternoon. It was heartbreaking hearing the story of how Seaworld obtained many of its killer whales back in the 70s, and utterly chilling to find out the details surrounding Tilikum, the largest captive orca. He's killed (and in one case partially eaten) two of his trainers, and also killed a man who illegally entered his pool at night in a fashion that would suit a horror movie.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ooh, I could theoretically do that! But can I actually handle 6 hours in a theater on a Thursday? I don't think I can take Friday off at this point. Hm.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Odin did say it was time for him to take a queen, not necessarily a wife...

Apparently, somebody thinks that it's time we all get to see The Last Unicorn in theaters again. One city at a time, with Peter S. Beagle present:

Already hit LA, it's in Riverside Cty (Murrietta) tonight and San Diego this weekend. But they're planning to continue touring through the end of 2015, apparently.
