What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I feel like maybe two of any of the plot points could have been removed without any problem.

For instance, was there any point at all to the fact that the kaiju were clones or...something?

I liked the movie more the second time around since I wasn't expecting anything more than what it was, so I just appreciated its efforts to be decent in the character/plot department and awesome in the robots vs. monsters department. I did think it was neat that the heart of the movie was a father-daughter relationship between a black man and a Japanese woman.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

There were too many white guys with brown hair. It took quite a while for me to be able to tell them apart.

Agreed. Would have been even better if there were more than two women with speaking roles, one of whom got like three lines.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

P-C,

yes. it meant that the scientist could tap into their brain waves and have an understanding of how the door to the inner sanctum worked. If they weren't clones, they might have had unique brain responses that wouldn't give information about the big picture.

At least that's what I hand waved.

I thought he could learn anything he wanted because of the hive mind. Wasn't that where he was getting all his information, the hive mind? How would clones make it any easier to get information from the hive mind?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I think it was a hive mind BECAUSE they were all clones.

But they can't ALL be clones! Every single one we see is different!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

P-C,

they made that point that although they looked different, they were all clones. They made this statement specifically in the film.
